We are passionate about making a difference in the lives of young men, and teaming up with GNO, Inc. allows us to extend that impact even further. Through their visionary initiative, the Greater New Orleans Region One Center for STEM, we're joining forces to inspire and empower the next generation. Together with GNO, Inc.'s support, we're creating opportunities for our boys to explore and pursue careers in science, technology, engineering, and math. Our shared goal is to cultivate a more inclusive and dynamic STEM ecosystem in the Greater New Orleans region, ensuring that every young person has the opportunity to thrive and succeed.
Briefly describe the mission and objectives of your organization.
The mission of GNO, Inc is “To create a region with a thriving economy and an excellent quality of life, for everyone.” Through the Greater New Orleans Region One Center for STEM, we aim to designed to engage young people in authentic conversations regarding STEM careers, inspire them to pursue STEM programming in their schools, and ultimately, their occupation, and encourage them to choose STEM pathways where they are patently underrepresented, to increase diversity and inclusion within the STEM business ecosystem of the Greater New Orleans region.
What motivated your organization to engage in a partnership with Son of a Saint?
We engaged in this partnership because we saw there was a mutually beneficial opportunity to support the work that was already being done. SOAS has the reach, the proven track record of success, and most importantly, the desire, that allowed us to seamlessly integrate our respective goals to create transformative opportunities for these young men.
What has been the most unique or impactful component of your organization’s partnership with Son of a Saint?
The most impactful component of our partnership with Son of a Saint is always the opportunity created for these wonderful young men. We are thankful for their participation and their perseverance. The impact of this organization is something that will be felt worldwide as these young men grow and begin to lead.
