Katherine and Tony Gelderman, owners of Ted and George, are long-time admirers and supporters of Son of a Saint and all of the work the organization has accomplished. When first introduced to the organization by a friend, they were immediately impressed with the mission, goals and achievements.
How does your partnership with Son of a Saint align with the core values and goals of your organization?
Son of a Saint is supporting the development of the next generation of our city’s most exceptional men. Ted and George Men’s Shop provides clothes for men in our community.
What has been the most unique or impactful component of your organization’s partnership with Son of a Saint?
We have loved doing our fashion show the past two years. We are hoping to continue doing something special annually with SOAS. We love that our tenants of The Rink are also fans of Son of a Saint and thrilled to support the cause. Doing something with Son of a Saint becomes an effort everyone is proud to join.
What does mentorship mean to your organization? How do you promote mentorship within your organization?
Dressing well is important for a young man’s success. Investing in Son of a Saint creates the future leaders of New Orleans. This is invaluable. Our Ted and George Men’s Shop team members have decades of experience dressing gentlemen and can offer great advice to mentees when it comes to dressing for interviews, special occasions, how tie tie a tie, etc. In the future Ted and George staff could provide fashion advice to the mentees. The shop is now entering its second year and we hope to be able to do more with our broad array of quality vendors as we grow. There are a many possibilities we can explore together.
